TO THE GREATEST NEWS TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE! NO LIE!
Well, I finally slapped together a starter Web site (please do not watch the video; it was the only take in which you couldn't hear the dog panting. Anybody know a pro who could shoot a 1-minute cheap?) I finally converted those huge files I shot on our last day into kb-sized Web friendly images and uploaded them. So, take a look. I truly want to thank you all for showing Maryland what real journalism is all about; for proving what can be accomplished with limited resources, and for being such fantastic professionals during our last two weeks, when knowing we were dead did nothing to curb our performance. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. We did show the world the future of news. Thanks.
Yours in news,
P.s. Yes, I put clever captions on them until the image of Curtis crashed the site, and I lost them all. Will add clever captions later. If you have any suggestions, please send. Also, if you have any poignant images, please convert to kb-sized files for Web and email.
Publishing 10 daily newspapers when we knew they would be our last Baltimore Examiners was a tough mission. But everyone maintained full commitment to the highest standards of journalism every day to the bitter end. It was a challenge, but we all were glad owner Philip Anschutz demonstrated his trust in us and gave us the opportunity to go out in style. I took most of these photos on our last day. Thanks to everyone.Go to flickr to add your photos.
